LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
There is a new baseball team in the Derby City.

The Louisville Jockeys are a summer collegiate team that plays their home games at Derby City Field, the home of Spalding University baseball.

The team includes players from California, Arizona, Texas and Washington as well as a couple of players from Louisville, Max Latkovski and Austin Taylor.

Players in the league said they come with the hopes of getting better at their beloved sport and also have some fun doing so.

Latkovski and Taylor were excited to see the energy of the atmosphere for their inaugural game this past weekend.

The team loves to joke about how everything they do is the team’s first from the player with the first broken bat to the team with the first home run.

The players hope that local baseball fans can come out and see the team this season.
